Listening as a serious, shared and transformative act.
1,200 sq ft, opening in Puerto Rico in late April 2026 – functions as both a cultural seed and a proof of concept.
Programming will include seated and lying-down listening sessions, sound art, lectures, workshops, and experimental formats that treat listening as an active, shared discipline rather than passive entertainment. The longer-term vision is a multi-zone venue, moving through distinct energy levels: a live music venue, a speakeasy lounge, a dedicated silent listening room, and a wellness floor. Each zone operates differently. All of them belong to the same idea.
The Omelas Foundation is the philanthropic engine behind the wider Omelas project.
Where the Listening Room creates physical space for deep listening the Foundation extends and amplifies that mission outwards — funding artists, organisations and initiatives across the world that use sound, music and listening. It is not a vanity arm or a corporate exercise in charitable giving — it is what makes Omelas a long-term cultural commitment rather than a venue with good intention
